HIV Care and Health Resources

The best way to protect your health, if you’re HIV positive, is to get proper care. In most cases, it  helps to have a specialist who knows the complicated issues involved in treating HIV. When deciding on care providers, be sure to ask how many patients with HIV they have treated, and how many they currently see. Make an effort to work with your doctor as a team. Research shows that folks who take charge of their health stay in care and stay healthy longer.

The listing of care providers below is by no means a comprehensive. The HIV Prevention and Care Project staff are researching care providers in Pennsylvania and will add to the list on-going. You can also search the Gay and Lesbian Medical Association’s provider directory by zip code to search for general care providers in  your area.

You can locate State Health Centers here. State Health Centers are geared toward uninsured patients, so you only pay what  you can afford.

If you are a care provider, and you’re not listed here, send us an email with your contact information and we’ll be happy to add you to our list: PMS@stophiv.pitt.edu.
